Sharon joined The Tutor Trust in July 2020 with over 20 years of experience in primary education.

After graduating from the Institute of Education, University of London, Sharon began her teaching career in a multi-lingual primary school in Tottenham, North London. Gaining Advanced Skills Teacher status whilst teaching in Bradford enabled Sharon to support and develop the teaching of literacy within a range of schools faced with their own unique challenges such as, high percentages of EAL, SEND learners and disadvantaged families.

Following the successful completion of a SpLD Post Graduate Certificate and Diploma in Dyslexia and working as an ITT Link Tutor at Bradford College Sharon is now a teaching and learning consultant, coach and mentor. She develops bespoke training and development packages for schools, in order to transform practice, impact on pupil progress, strengthen the quality and effectiveness of senior management teams and facilitate teacher career progression.

Sharon is passionate about making a difference to the educational experiences that learners from disadvantaged backgrounds receive, so is thrilled to be a member of the Tutor Trust team. She is keen to nurture and develop inspiring school partnerships aimed at reducing the attainment gap for the young people of the future.

Simon Kirsima (He/Him)

Leeds-Bradford Schools Manager

Simon is an experienced Primary teacher and senior leader, joining Tutor Trust in August 2022 to continue his passion to enhance the educational opportunities of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

After completing his teacher training, Simon took a teaching role in a Leeds school facing some of largest barriers to learning in the country. He stayed in this position for eight years, developed as Head of Maths and went on to join the school senior leadership team. This gave him valuable experience helping pupils and schools within the Trust to close the attainment gap and improve progress for the most disadvantaged pupils.

He further developed as an educational leader through completing the Teaching Leaders fellow programme for talented educational leaders. Simon is excited to be a part of the Tutor Trust team and is determined to use his skills to help young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their maximum potential.
