We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the staff team as a Full-Time Tutor in Manchester!

We're looking for someone who can will deliver tuition in schools across Greater Manchester, to support our mission to transform lives through tutoring.

You'll be working with pupils aged from nine to 16-years-old, working mainly on a 1:3 basis and supporting them with their Maths and English.

Full-Time Tutor, Manchester

Responsible for: Delivery of academic intervention in Maths, English or Science at Tutor Trust.

Location:  Manchester.

Salary: £23,500 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.  

Job Purpose: Main Duties and Responsibilities:

·        To plan and deliver tuition to primary or secondary school aged pupils (from 9-16 years old) across Greater Manchester on mainly a 1:3 basis, with some potential instances of 1:2 and 1:1 tuition where required,

·        To complete appropriate paperwork relating to tuition with pupil (register, feedback sheets, etc.),

·        To liaise with Manchester Schools Coordinators at Tutor Trust,

·        To undergo any appropriate training throughout the role to enhance understanding of Maths, English or Primary teaching and curriculum,

·        To support other tutors as appropriate,

·        To be involved in Tutor Trust tutorials and training where required.

 

Person Specification – skills and attributes

·        One year of tutoring experience required or QTS,

·        Ability to tutor English, Maths and Primary to a standard desirable (or happy to train in order to do so),

·        Bright, enthusiastic and well-motivated tutor confident in dealing with young people,

·        Robust and resilient character with excellent time-management skills,

·        Must have achieved a minimum of Grade A/7 at GCSE in Maths and English,

·        Demonstrate a commitment to the goals and ethos behind Tutor Trust,

·        Enthusiasm and ability to contribute to the successful development of Tutor Trust,

·        Understanding of the National Curriculum, GCSE syllabus and have a broad understanding of policy issues and educational best practice relating to improving pupil achievement at KS3, KS2 and KS4,

·        The ability to work with children from complex backgrounds and with complex needs,

·        The key Tutor Trust competencies of humility, respect and empathy, as well as a high levels of planning, organisation of problem solving.

General

The job is a full-time position and will be based at Tutor Trust office in Manchester, with frequent travel required across the Greater Manchester region to deliver tuition.  All reasonable travel expenses on Tutor Trust business will be reimbursed (not including your regular commute from home to the Tutor Trust office). 

Holiday entitlement will be 33 days per annum (inclusive of Bank Holidays, pro rata). The role will involve working occasional unsocial hours in the evenings and at weekends. 

We are signed up to the Government-backed NEST pensions scheme, which is offered to our employees (with an employer contribution) from Day One of employment.

In accordance with our Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures, this position requires an enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references.
