Meet your coordinator! Your School Coordinator is a really important partner between you and the school. You will have regular contact with them and they will get to know you really well. Coordinators: Advertise the positions you see on Connect and will select you for an assignment. Organise and lead your Introductory Meeting with the school and make sure you have all the information you will need to get started. Create your weekly registers and approve your pay and feedback each week. If you have any issues with registers then please contact your School Coordinator. Please know that all of our coordinators are here to provide you with continual support throughout your assignments. Keep in touch and let them know what you’re looking for - if you can’t see it on Connect, get in touch and have a chat about your availability. Be sure to look out for our drop-in sessions where you can meet your Coordinator along with other tutors in a friendly, informal environment. We appreciate that you have chosen to do this important and necessary work - you are making a huge difference to the pupils we work with. We hope you enjoy your Tutor Trust journey and you find your experience of tutoring very rewarding. Meet your School Coordinators: Greater Manchester Primary Greater Manchester Secondary Leeds-Bradford Merseyside Tutoring Plus (formerly Alternative Provision and Looked After Children (AP / LAC)) Greater Manchester Alex Wood - Manchester Primary Schools Manager I’m Alex, the Manchester Primary Schools Manager. Working with Maddie and Aaron, I oversee all our tuition with our school partners across Manchester. I tutored Secondary English through my time as a student at University of Manchester. I studied Psychology and found working with GCSE pupils on their English a great break from Uni. I’m always keen to meet with our tutors. Having worked as a tutor throughout my time as a student, I know how difficult it can be to build a timetable of work and study that is balanced. I’m always here to have a phone call and go through your availability to maximise your time. I can’t wait to start working with you! Email me at: [email protected]. Aaron Hughes Manchester Primary-Transition Coordinator I’m Aaron, one of the Manchester Primary Coordinators. I also work on something called the Transition Project, which is an exciting opportunity that supports Primary children in navigating their way into Secondary School. I joined The Tutor Trust as a Secondary English tutor in March 2021, before becoming a member of the office team in September 2021. Outside of work, I assist in the running of Tameside Basketball Club, where I act as the Head Coach for our four teams. Alongside this, I am obsessed with anything Horror or Gothic, after studying these topics at both Undergraduate and Master’s level. I encourage anyone to apply to become a tutor with us. You will grow and develop in your teaching methods, working with children who otherwise would not get such a fulfilling opportunity. If you are interested, please contact me: [email protected]. Sammy Meynell Manchester Primary Schools Coordinator Hi, I'm Sammy and I'm one of the Primary Schools Coordinators in Manchester! I started my Tutor Trust journey as a Secondary English tutor, which was a really fun experience. I then joined the full-time office team as a coordinator in March 2022, so I'm now experienced in how tuition works from both sides. I'm really looking forward to working with any prospective primary school tutors! When I'm not coordinating, you can find me watching the football, reading a good book or on the yoga mat! If you have any questions about tutoring with us, feel free to drop me an email: [email protected]. Cliona O'Hanlon - Manchester Secondary Schools Manager I joined The Tutor Trust in January 2017 as a Primary Tutor in Leeds. I then became a Full Time Tutor in Manchester, working primarily as a Secondary Maths tutor. Following this I then joined the Manchester Secondary team as a Coordinator. Outside of work I like hanging out with my two dogs and going on holiday when I can! If you have any questions you can get in touch with me at [email protected]. Outside of work, my interests include photography, filmmaking, and learning guitar. I’m also learning Japanese! As an experienced English, maths, and science tutor, I am happy to offer advice on both the logistics and subject-specific content of an assignment.
