This week, Year 6 pupils across the country are taking their SATs exams. The Tutor Trust has worked with hundreds of Year 6’s this academic year across Greater Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool and we want to wish them all the best of luck.

We’re currently working in over 70 Primary schools, including Micklehurst All Saints Primary School in Mossley, where tutor Penny was helping ten Year 6 pupils prepare for their SATs exams.

Penny started tutoring the Micklehurst pupils last June, when they were in Year 5. She continued to support them throughout Year 6 and right up to their final exams of Primary School. The school have said the pupils made excellent progress under Penny and are delighted with her ongoing work and support.

Joanne Harding, a teacher at Micklehurst, had this to say about their experience with the Tutor Trust:

“Our school tutor, Penny has really taken the time to get to know our children. As a result she is able to recognise when they need both support and challenge”

Primary pupils were given good luck cards with personalised messages from our tutors as a thank you for their success so far and to give them some final words of motivation before exams. Penny gave cards to her pupils which they were very excited about. She also spoke positively of her time spent tutoring at Micklehurst:

“It's so great being a tutor at Micklehurst Primary; not only is it engaging and creative, but it is also rewarding to work with my pupils towards their goals and offer them support. I'm proud to be a part of the Tutor Trust and enjoy a role where no two day are alike”

We want to thank Penny for doing such a great job and wish the pupils at Micklehurst and all our partner Primary Schools the best of luck next week. There have been over 5000 hours of tuition delivered across Greater Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool this year - we are certain the hard work of our tutors and our pupils will pay off!
