Join us: We’re looking for tutors!

Want to make a difference in your local community? If so, or if you know anyone who does, then why not become a tutor with us?

Today we’ve relaunched our search for more motivated individuals to become tutors with us. As a tutor, you’ll work in small groups of pupils across either Greater Manchester, Leeds-Bradford, or Merseyside and support them in Primary (Maths and Reading) or Secondary Maths, English, or Science.

We have a team of qualified teachers who will support you through our high-quality online training programme – so whether you have prior teaching experience, are looking at working in education, or just want to make a difference, we’ll equip you with the tools you need so your tuition has a positive impact on the pupils you work with.

What our tutors have to say

Farhan, one of our tutors based in Oldham, finds great joy in giving back to his community, expressing that:

“Since I went to school, I’ve always found helping people rewarding. My teachers used to say to me that they were happy that I went out of my way to help others with my work. As a tutor, I feel that I am in a role that’s suited to me, where I can help others improve and feel like I’m giving back.

“I love tutoring because I can see the direct impact on the people I am helping in my local area. I’ve always asked myself in other jobs that I’ve gone for what the impact of my work will be. Sometimes, it’s difficult to figure out, but I know that with tuition, I’ll never question whether I am making a difference."

Not only is tutoring with Tutor Trust rewarding in this sense, but we’re a supportive team too. Ada, a Leeds-based tutor, emphasises:

Tutor Trust is a great charity to work for because they’re incredibly supportive. They offer extensive training and countless opportunities to further your professional development.

“For anyone interested in tuition, I’d 100% recommend going for it! The application is very straightforward. If you get an interview, you’ll need to give a short mock lesson, which isn’t daunting at all, and even if it is for you, everyone who works for the charity is nice and approachable.”
