The Right Angle project wins Fair Education Alliance Scaling Award – 30th July 2020 Tutor Trust are delighted to announce that The Right Angle has been awarded the Fair Education Alliance’s “Scaling Award”. The Award is provided by the FEA to enable charities to scale up their work and help them have the greatest impact possible. We are immensely proud of The Right Angle’s achievements and to know our work will be supported by the FEA in this way over the next two years. Started in 2018, The Right Angle is an Alternative Provision project initially funded by the Department for Education. It is run in collaboration with TLC: Talk Listen Change, a charity who deliver a range of services which help support safe and healthy relationships. Since September 2018, The Right Angle has worked with over 200 young people in some of the most deprived areas of Greater Manchester. We have already had a significant impact: 95% of our cohort either increased attendance or maintained good attendance, whilst our first year 11 cohort experienced an average grade improvement of between 0.7 and 1.2 in mathematics and English. There are however many young people in Greater Manchester who do not have access to an intervention like The Right Angle and are in real need of it. The Scaling Award will enable our project to grow at pace. Through networking with similar organisations and gathering more data, we will improve our practice and understand our impact even better. Our project will support more young people and make an even bigger difference to their education. We would like to thank the FEA for recognising the efforts of The Right Angle in supporting the most vulnerable children and young people in Manchester. This award will help Tutor Trust develop The Right Angle as an intervention project and we look forward to serving more young people through our work. Manage Cookie Preferences
