Thinqi

Thinqi is our online learning platform and home to a plethora of resources to support our tutors’ training, development and lesson planning.

We are focused on delivering high-quality tutoring to all our tutees, and ensuring our tutors are well-trained essential to achieving this.  Pre-Covid-19, all training was held face-to-face, but lockdown and restrictions imposed during the pandemic meant we had to move training online. The Thinqi platform played a pivotal role in enabling us to do this, and we offered the first online training sessions in August 2020.

Training is comprehensive and includes three live Zoom training sessions (run in the same way as they were face-to-face), three Compulsory Learning Tasks and several hours of online training content, on Thinqi,  produced by our experienced trainers. To prepare them for the classroom, our trainee tutors create their own lesson plan, which is then monitored by a member of our Quality Team using our standardised criteria.

When tutors have completed all training, including a Safeguarding module, they are then ready to take on their first tutoring assignment.

For all tutors, we use Thinqi to release Continuing Professional Development (CPD) content throughout the year. Our CPD programme is designed to boost the skills and confidence of our tutors and to support them holistically, with topics ranging from lesson planning to wellbeing. We use Thinqi to advertise all our live events that we are running and to share our regular Tutor Trust Tutorials.

The Thinqi Library is our central resource bank. It contains hundreds of high-quality resources that tutors can use within their tutoring sessions, our full catalogue of Tutor Trust Tutorials, key Tutor Trust documentation, such as the Tutor Handbook and safeguarding policies, and our fortnightly Tutor Newsletter.

If you have any questions relating to Thinqi, please contact [email protected].
