After graduating university with a degree in Primary Education, Luke knew he wanted to continue working in educational settings to improve access and equity in education. He worked for a Uniconnect in South-West London, supporting students underrepresented in higher education through workshops, presentations and organising visits to universities and residentials. Then, Luke moved back up north where he worked in the admissions department at a college in West Yorkshire, working with students to help the understand their next steps in post-16 education.
Luke says: “My motivation in this role stems from caring about tackling inequalities in education and widening participation for young people. In my role, I am looking forward to working together with a diverse range of educational settings and tutors to have a positive impact on young people’s aspirations and outcomes! Being from the North myself, I understand some of the challenges faced in our partner schools and can see the positive impact the Tutor Trust has within them.”
