On Monday 28th January, at the University of Manchester, an informative CPD event took place for our tutors. The purpose of the CPD event was to support tutors to provide high quality tutor sessions consistently and develop their own skills to enable them to access our Advanced Tutor Pathway. Our Advanced Tutors are the most skilled tutors renowned for providing the highest quality tuition. The workshop was attended by over twenty experienced tutors all keen to provide outstanding tuition for the young people that they tutor.

The session was delivered by Jo Meredith, Quality Manager for Alternative Provision. Further sessions will be delivered in Liverpool and Leeds later in the week by Matt Wallis, our Quality Manager for Primary, and Jenny Muter, our Quality Manager for Secondary.

The session covered lesson planning, building resilience and The 7 E Learning Plan.

Tutors provided immediate feedback by QR code. This showed that tutors felt that the CPD was very useful. They found it was,

“Helpful to discuss how to improve the quality of tuition.”

“The Quality Check Criteria and example lesson plans provided a useful outline of what to strive for”.

“Being able to discuss issues or tips with other tutors”.
