JOIN THE TEAM: Finance Assistant - 19th September 2019 Post Title: Finance Assistant Responsible to: Director of Finance Job Purpose: To support the Director of Finance in the preparation of all charity finance and accounting functions, as well as other general office administration. Main Functions: Finance Updating all spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals. Controlling credit and chasing debt. Assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts. Bank reconciliation. Managing petty cash transactions. Inputting all transactions and produce reports as required into SAGE 50. Previous experience in a finance/accounts role is essential, as is experience with SAGE 50 or similar software package. You must be flexible and able to take on a range of tasks. Secretarial and Admin You may be asked to assist in general office duties as necessary. Administration support – ensuring tutors and suppliers are paid in a timely manner and updating school contacts information for invoicing and related administration support. Admin for recruitment – contacting candidates, requesting references and processing DBS applications. Additional Responsibilities may include: Providing administrative support to the Tutor Trust organisation and staff, including: Looking after visitors. Using a variety of software packages to produce correspondence and documents, and maintain presentations, spreadsheets and databases. Arranging meetings, taking minutes and keeping notes. Invoicing and maintaining budgetary and financial information. Filing and storing paperwork, documents and computer-based information. Providing support in organising tutor and staff development and training. To be an active member of the team and actively contribute to the Tutor Trust’s overall strategic plan. To take a creative and enthusiastic approach to contributing to making the Tutor Trust successful. General This is a permanent role of 32 hours per week over 4 days with a salary of £22,000 - £25,000 (pro-rata) per annum dependent on experience. 33 days holiday entitlement (pro-rata). Contributory Pension (after a successful qualifying period). The job will be based in our offices in the Northern Quarter, Manchester. There may be occasions when we will request unsocial hours for training/ recruitment events.
