JOIN THE TEAM: Manchester Tutor Coordinator - 30th May 2017 Post Title: Tutor Coordinator Responsible to: Chief Operating Officer Job Purpose: As a fully trained tutor of the Tutor Trust, the role of Tutor Coordinator will be to develop closer relations between tutors and creating opportunities for networking and working together. This will include responsibility for the work of the Tutor Trust Brand Ambassadors and will aim to maintain and improve systems for the benefit of all our tutors. You will also support the Recruitment & Impact Coordinator in the recruitment of new tutors. The role will involve working alongside the Tutor Trust team on all aspects of the Tutor Trust and assist in the office functions, whilst acting as a point of liaison between tutors and the Chief Operating Officer. Main Functions Responsibility for developing closer relations between tutors and opportunities for networking and working together Will assist with the recruitment process for new tutors, including short listing and interviewing, in partnership with Directors, Chief Operating Officer & Recruitment & Impact Coordinator Assist with general office functions and provide support to the Chief Operating Officer Responsibility for the Tutor Dropbox, including news and information updates Manage and maintain the social media output for the Tutor Trust, including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter Develop and maintain strong relationships with University of Manchester, RNCM, Salford University and MMU student bodies and societies to in the recruitment and retention of tutors Will be involved in the development and delivery of training events in Leeds for tutors Take part in general induction presentations and other events to promote the Tutor Trust both internally and externally Help with preparation for Tutor Trust events aimed at a range of stakeholders Participate with project work Assist other staff to complete a variety administration tasks that enable the Trust to operate effectively and efficiently Any other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the post The role may also involve taking on tuition assignments. Person Specification Good candidates for this role will be high achievers, with excellent IT and English skills, diplomatic and inter-personal skills and plenty of initiative. Skills Educated to degree level Must have achieved a minimum of Grade A at GCSE in Maths and/or English (preferably both) to meet necessary requirements for working as a tutor Excellent communication skills with ability to establish a rapport and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and from all sectors The ability to work under pressure to cope with multiple demands and deadlines, to work fast and to a consistently high standard Excellent organisational skills The ability to manage office systems and contact databases and to use them effectively Be able to write fluently, to think clearly and to grasp new concepts quickly. To be fully IT literate, particularly to be competent with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook Attributes Demonstrate a commitment to the goals and drivers behind the Tutor Trust Enthusiasm and ability to contribute to the successful development of the Tutor Trust Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail A willingness to work unsociable hours when required Willingness to undergo DBS clearance and be committed to Safeguarding children Be a team player Have strong organisational and communication skills Be able to prioritise and manage tasks General This role is a one year fixed-term contract. The job is part-time and will be mainly based in the Manchester office which is situated on the edge of the Northern Quarter in Manchester. The hours of work are 20 hrs a week. This will also involve working occasional unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends.
