We have welcomed another new member of staff to the Tutor Trust team today! Lucy Farnan-Stone has joined our growing Quality and Impact team as our Quality Manager (Secondary) after 7 years working in several schools across Merseyside. Most recently, she has joined us from Wade Deacon Secondary School where she undertook the role of Lead Practitioner in Mathematics.

Lucy joins us at an exciting time for Tutor Trust as we begin another new school term and continue our drive to provide high quality tuition to pupils who really need it. Lucy’s role will mean we can monitor more tutors than ever before so we have an even better understanding of the impact our tutors have on the young people they work with.

Lucy became a teacher through Teach First, one of our key sector partners, in 2012 then went on to teach in schools in Liverpool and St Helen’s. In joining our office team, Lucy becomes the fifth former teacher to be working at the Tutor Trust. We are very proud of this as their knowledge of schools and teaching will be of huge benefit to our charity’s progress and improve our impact. With Lucy’s experience in Maths, we now have individuals with expertise in all the core subjects that Tutor Trust offers – Secondary Maths, Secondary English, Secondary Science and Primary. There will therefore be even more support available for our tutors and the quality of tuition will be more assured with Lucy added to the team.

Our Quality team now consists of:

  • Matt Wallis, Director of Training and Quality Assurance, with over 14 years of experience working in primary schools and as an Assistant Headteacher
  • Jenny Muter, Director of Tutor Recruitment and Impact, with experience as Assistant Head of English, Head of Humanities, and leader of Key Stage 3 Assessment
  • Jo Meredith, Director of Alternative Provision, with over 20 years as a teacher in Chemistry and in senior leadership including Headship
  • Mark Wyss, Liverpool Schools Partnership Manager, with over 20 years experience in secondary education, teaching Modern Foreign Languages, as well as spells of English, PE and ICT
