We are delighted that more than 270 of our experienced and highly trained tutors have just completed their annual compulsory training, which includes important modules on safeguarding and quality tuition, demonstrating their commitment to return to the classroom.

A further 220 are currently completing their safeguarding updates, after which they will be able to resume tutoring.

And we are also delighted to welcome on board our newest group of tutors – 128 highly-motivated individuals who have passed our recruitment and high-quality training programme with flying colours!

“The need for high-quality tutors is more urgent now than ever as the lockdowns have caused lost learning for many young people in the most disadvantaged communities, widening the attainment gap,” say Tutor Trust Co-Founders Nick Bent and Abigail Shapiro.

“It speaks volumes that so many of our tutors have chosen to return this year and committed to their training and continued professional development. And it’s great to see so many new faces joining us too.

“Having these highly motivated individuals ready to transform lives in this post-COVID catch-up world is fantastic news.  We’re delighted that they are now ready to work with our existing and new school partners, so that we can support even more young people. Schools across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Leeds-Bradford city regions have already set up tutoring sessions with us and there are more in the pipeline.

It’s always an exciting time when we welcome our new and returning tutors. They have all worked so hard to get this far and we want to thank them for choosing to tutor with us and make such a positive impact in their communities.

To meet the need for tutors from our school partners across our four city regions, we have a rolling recruitment programme.  We’re looking forward to working with our university partners to recruit more tutors. We also welcome applications from qualified teachers and other professionals looking for a change of direction, who want to transform lives in their community.

If you feel you’ve got what it takes to train as a tutor, deliver impactful tutoring and make a real difference to young people, please apply! We need you!
