Tutor Trust welcomes four new trustees as charity enters its 15th year

Published:

As Tutor Trust enters its 15th year of operation, the charity is delighted to announce the appointment of four new trustees, who formally joined the Board on 1 September 2026.

The appointments strengthen the charity’s governance and bring valuable expertise to the Board whilst helping to address gaps left by trustees who had stepped down or moved into different professions. Three of the new trustees have active roles at some of the highest levels in the field of education. The fourth combines experience in teaching with a career in private equity, bringing both education and business expertise to the Board.

Together, the new trustees bring a breadth of knowledge and experience that will support Tutor Trust’s continued development as it builds on nearly 15 years of operation and looks ahead to its next chapter.

Welcoming our new trustees

The four newly appointed trustees are:

  • Becca Jenkins, Lecturer in Education and Interim Director of Initial Teacher Education at Bangor University who joins our Education Committee.
  • Matt Cobbold, Strategic Growth Director at Palatine Private Equity who joins our Finance and Risk Committee.
  • David Woolley, Director of Education for Laurus Trust who joins our Education Committee.
  • Mark McKelvie, Headteacher, Pudsey Grammar School in Leeds who joins our Education Committee.
"My experience gives me an accurate picture of the challenges which secondary schools across the north of England are facing, combined with personal experience of the life-changing impact that a great tutor can have. I would hope that my contributions will support the Tutor Trust in the years ahead by giving insight into the needs of young people and the support they require.” -Mark McKelvie, Headteacher and Tutor Trust Trustee

Looking ahead

These appointments mark an important opportunity to strengthen the Board and ensure it has the expertise needed to support the charity’s future. The new trustees’ combined experience in education, teaching and business will contribute to the Board’s work and help guide Tutor Trust through its next phase.

The charity looks forward to working with its new trustees and drawing on their knowledge, experience and commitment to support its ongoing mission.
