Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

As a learning organisation, we’re continually reflecting on and improving our practice in regard to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I). We're committed to equality of opportunity for all our staff, tutors and tutees, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, religion or belief, disability, ethnic origin, age, or nationality.

This commitment is embedded in our mission, vision and values. In particular, in our firm beliefs in fairness, empowered inclusivity, and continuous learning and reflection.

We’ve developed an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Staff Group to put our beliefs into practice and embed ED&I into everything we do. So far, we have made positive steps toward a more inclusive culture, including:

·       Support for tutors and Schools Coordinators on how to handle a range of situations in schools - for example, respecting pupils’ pronouns;

·       Sharing of collaborative ED&I resources and reading lists across our staff team;

·       Ongoing analysis of Diversity and Inclusion statistics within tutor recruitment;

·       The creation of a series of online tutorials for tutors focused on specific educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND);

·       Hosting of ED&I learning and development opportunities for staff and tutors focused on socio-economic disadvantage in education;

·       Continuous development of an ED&I resources library on our online training platform for tutors, including lesson plan guidance and tutor well-being signposting.

We’re constantly striving to expand and improve our efforts and are receptive to any suggestions. Please find more information about our ED&I Staff Group members below, including contact details if you have any questions.
