Being a tutor: Use your expertise to tutor small groups of one-to-one, or one-to-three, in Maths, English, or Science, at Primary and Secondary level. Identify individual needs for learning and development and tailor your sessions to them, enabling your pupils to achieve their potential. Work with the same group of pupils at the same time every week, throughout the duration of an assignment (normally 15 school weeks) and play a key part in their academic and personal growth. Most tutoring takes place during the school day (8am – 4pm) inside the school building, and during school term times. Tutoring with us is flexible work, meaning you can either commit to a minimum of three hours of tuition per week, or apply to work as many assignments as you like and make tutoring a more full-time source of income. You need to be eligible to register as self-employed and be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS and references check before you start tutoring with us. Benefits of tutoring Earn £24/28.50 minimum to plan and deliver each hour of tuition*, dependent on your experience. A one-off bonus of £20 when you complete your first tuition session of the academic year (2022/23). A one-off bonus of £100 when you complete at least 30 hours of tutoring this academic year (equivalent to two completed assignments of 15 hour sessions each). Take control of your teaching: identify individual learning needs and tailor your sessions to enable your pupils to reach their potential Flexible working hours: continue doing what you love at your own pace and in a smaller classroom environment. Fulfilment from working with a charity, supporting young people in your local community. *We pay our Qualified Teacher tutors £24 or £28.50 (dependent on experience) to plan and deliver a session. This means that each QT tutor receives a minimum of £360 or £427.50 (dependent on experience) for every standard assignment of 15 hours. This applies to all face-to-face and online sessions. Joining us We offer high-quality training to all our tutors, and, for our successful QT applicants, we offer a bespoke training plan. This allows you to move through the training process more quickly, with tailored support from our team of qualified teachers. The training consists of a general online induction, an online safeguarding course, and a lesson planning task. Our Quality Team mark these elements. When you are successful at the end of this – and we’ve graded your lesson plan as ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ – you will be able to apply for your first tutoring assignment! We use the online platform ‘Connect’ to enable you to see and book tutoring sessions (assignments) near you, and we’d encourage you to check in regularly as we have new schools requesting tutoring all the time.
