  • Welcome to Tutor Trust!

Welcome to Tutor Trust!

We’re delighted to welcome you and your child to tutoring sessions with one of our highly-trained tutors.

Who we are

Tutor Trust is an award-winning charity with a strong track record of working successfully with schools in the Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Leeds/Bradford city regions, supporting young people, just like your child, to achieve their potential. (Read more about who we are, our impact and our Mission, Vision and Values).

Currently, we are a delivery partner of the Government’s National Tutoring Programme.  This means the school can access tutoring at very low cost (there will be no charge at all to parents/carers).

How tutoring works

Your child has been chosen by their school to benefit from high-quality, personalised additional support from one of our tutors.

Our tutors are bright and talented students at local universities and they are great role models as well as good tutors. These tutors will build on the excellent work of the school’s classroom teachers.  All our tutors are rigorously recruited and trained and will, of course, have an enhanced DBS check.

The chance to have a ‘private tutor’ is a great opportunity for your child to thrive academically and to grow in confidence.  We hope that you will encourage your child to attend all the sessions and to engage positively with his/her tutor.

In order for the tutoring to have the great results we all hope for, your child will have 15 one-hour tutoring sessions in total.  The content and the goals of the tutoring programme will be tailored to the needs of your child by the school’s teaching staff and the tutors.  We have evidence from independent research that 15 hours of tuition can make a difference.

We hope that you will welcome this partnership between your child’s school and Tutor Trust, and the extra boost it will give to your child’s learning and self-confidence.

If you have any questions, please speak to your child’s school directly.

Our GCSE Booster sessions help prepare young people for success

As a charity, our vision is to, "be a part of an education system that provides excellence, equity and opportunity to every child and young person in the UK; we want all pupils to receive the support they need to overcome any barriers they face in achieving their full potential."

Part of ensuring that the landscape of education changes is empowering pupils to feel prepared for their educational journey throughout Primary and Secondary school. We provide tools and resources to improve educational outcomes through our tuition, but we're always looking to do more. Our GCSE Booster sessions are short, resource-filled workshops aimed at Year 11 pupils, and their parents and guardians. Run by our team of experienced teachers and tutors, these sessions are focused on de-mystifying GCSE revision, and giving you key revision techniques to help support learning throughout the summer exam period.

Our next session, focused on tackling GCSE English Literature, will be on Monday 28th March from 5:00 - 5:30pm, and you can sign up here.
