Celebrating our brilliant tutors at the Tutor Awards

We recognise the hard work of our tutors across all regions at our annual Tutor Awards events, held at the end of each school year

Published:

It has been a very exciting year at Tutor Trust; our tutors have been working hard across 183 school settings across the North of England to inspire the next generation. We are extremely proud of every individual tutor’s tenacity in tailoring their sessions to each pupil to ignite a passion for learning.

Our Tutor Awards are a highlight of the year, a chance to say thank you for our tutors’ hard work and celebrate them for helping to make a real difference. From Primary tuition right up to post-16 GCSE resits, our tutors covered all bases, getting to know each young person so that they felt valued and were able to make outstanding academic progress.

For our Greater Manchester tutor awards, we celebrated on a very sunny Wednesday evening at Nells with bottomless pizza! Our staff team were there to present the 13 awards along with a few VIPs from our partnerships across Greater Manchester. Tutors had put in an incredible effort across the year to deliver over 11,000 hours of tutoring. We could not be any prouder of our tutors, and so we wanted to celebrate a fantastic year with them, the people who make the difference.

For me, knowing that I've contributed to improving young people's academic achievement is a great feeling, and I know they have better chances in life as a result. The learners felt confident and good about themselves, and their motivation to succeed increased."
Farida Dhada, Post-16 Tutor of the Year (Greater Manchester), PGCE from Manchester Metropolitan University
I really enjoyed celebrating the commitment of our Manchester tutor pool and taking the chance to connect with such a diverse and supportive network. I am always pleased to recognise the hard work of tutors that I’ve worked closely with, and to hear the encouraging stories from those that I have not yet had the chance to.”

Merseyside Tutor Awards

In an equally exciting evening, our Merseyside Team hosted Tutor Awards at Fredericks in Liverpool. Over the year, the Merseyside Team worked with over 1000 young people across 45 schools, an amazing achievement! We celebrated the guidance tutors provided and the challenges they had helped young people overcome throughout the year. We thanked Merseyside tutors for their commitment and tireless effort they gave to their lessons with young people, each lesson helping us to get closer to our aim of being part of a fairer education system.
This academic year hasn’t been without its challenges. But what has stood out is the resilience and dedication that all of you have shown. You’ve gone above and beyond to support your learners — not just to help them succeed academically, but to inspire confidence, curiosity, and growth. And that is something truly worth celebrating."

Tutors in West Yorkshire also attended an event in Leeds at Clockwork Office, followed by a visit to ‘Chance and Counters’, a board game café in Leeds. We were delighted to celebrate tutors for their individual successes, handing out awards for going above and beyond, for long-standing commitment, as well as outstanding tutoring over the year.
Haneen is the best tutor ever and is so caring. She is the best tutor, and she makes me feel welcome, listens to our ideas carefully and explains anything we don't understand.”

My mentor [tutor] is really nice and I believe that my maths abilities are getting better.”
Year 8 maths pupil, Leeds City Academy
I was delighted to be recognised during the recent Tutor Awards. It made me feel proud of the success I have had with the students I tutor. Tutoring is so rewarding. You get the satisfaction of watching a student go from unsure, frustrated, or stuck to becoming more confident, understanding the topic and succeeding. It's a privilege to be part of their learning journey.”
