A great start and we are looking forward to building on this in the weeks and months ahead!
And the winner is...
Last week, we were delighted to attend the Third Sector Awards as a nominee for the Medium Charity of the Year award. The award recognised third-sector organisations that had a truly exceptional year and whose recent achievements have attracted the admiration of the sector.
As you would expect, the competition was strong. Whilst we did not win, we were more than happy for FoodCycle whose mission of addressing food poverty, loneliness and food waste is a very timely and deserving cause.

It was a real privilege to represent The Tutor Trust at the Third Sector Awards. Being surrounded by so many incredible charities doing such great work is always inspiring. Whilst we did not win, our nomination is testament to the hard work of our tutors, partners and staff, and the continued generosity of our funders."Ed Marsh, CEO
We are also humbled to be nominated for Education Excellence at the Global Good Awards. The award ceremony will be held in London on 3 October. Fingers crossed!
Labour party conference
Our CEO, Ed Marsh, spoke on the Education Policy Institute (EPI) panel at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool. Ed, together with politicians and education leaders, discussed the continued impact of the pandemic on the education sector.
This is a topic we are very familiar with. We supported young people throughout the pandemic and have witnessed first-hand the impact the pandemic has had on young people’s attainment, engagement and wellbeing. We know this impact is not spread equally either. Disadvantaged pupils are now 10 months behind their peers at the end of primary school and 19 months at the end of secondary school.
Our tutoring works and we are ready to provide a solution to the challenges facing our education system. This is why, in our open letter to Kier Starmer, we urged him to put tuition firmly on the new Labour Government’s agenda.
