The Tutor Trust are delighted to have been announced as winners of ‘The Learning Award’ at the Children and Young People Now Awards 2019. This award is a great testament to our work and we are hugely grateful to CYPN Awards for recognising us.

The CYPN Awards have been running for fourteen years and acknowledge those in the third sector who are helping to improve the lives of children, young people and families in the UK. The awards are also a tremendous showcase of learning and best practice from across the country that can be an inspiration to all.

The ceremony took place on Thursday 28th November at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham. CYPN Awards give the ‘Learning Award’ to the initiative that has made the best contribution to improving educational achievement over the course of the year. The award follows a huge year of success and development for the Tutor Trust.

In February 2019, the Education Endowment Foundation announced The Tutor Trust as one of their Promising Projects, following a randomised control trial conducted in the 2016/17 academic year that provided clear evidence of our impact. In the last academic year, we recruited more tutors than ever and delivered over 20,000 hours of tuition across Greater Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool, serving 2,761 pupils in 187 schools and Alternative Provision providers.

To be recognised by the CYPN Awards through the ‘Learning Award’ is the perfect way to wrap up a year of incredible achievements for Tutor Trust and is the second awards success of the year, having been named “Highly Commended” for the ‘Charity of the Year Award’ at the North West Charity Awards 2019.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Children and Young People Awards for this accolade; we look forward to transforming even more lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the North through tuition.
