Hunslet Carr Primary School, Leeds - 21 August 2017 Work with Hunslet Carr Primay School started in the 2016/17 academic year as part of the EEF project. The tutors worked amazingly with the school and when we asked Martin Lumb, the Head Teacher, what he considered the best part of the tutelage he simply said “Hosai.” Hosai Faiz was one of the tutors working in the school. Hosai really enjoyed her time at Hunslet Carr Primary and said she loved “watching the pupils get involved and enjoying their learning, especially knowing that the boost in confidence will be useful for them not just in their Maths sessions but in all areas." When asked to summarise her time at Hunslet Carr Primary she said that, “It’s great working with the children and knowing that you are making a difference. The role can be challenging at times, especially if the pupils suffer from a lack of confidence, but the sense of satisfaction when they progress in terms of understanding, confidence and performance is immense. My favourite aspect of working in Hunslet Carr Primary and the job, in general, is developing a good relationship with the pupils and putting myself in their shoes to come up with ideas to help them enjoy and learn at the same time!” Not only was Hosai able to help the children but she also gained great skills by working for The Tutor Trust. According to Hosai, “Working as a Tutor for The Tutor Trust has been a fantastic opportunity to develop my leadership and interpersonal skills. I now feel a lot more confident in myself in terms of tackling challenges and taking initiative to achieve results both within this role and outside. Also, this role has allowed me to learn about myself and grow as a person; it has been an invaluable experience for me!” Manage Cookie Preferences
